LoriConecta

When communication breaks down, so does connection. Imagine being full of thoughts, feelings, and needs, yet having no way to express them. For millions of people living with speech difficulties, this is a daily reality.

Giving a voice to the silenced

Under the company LoriConecta, LoriComunica was developed in São Paulo by Joyce Querubino as part of her final Computer Science project, inspired by her mother’s work as an Occupational Therapist. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Joyce witnessed intubated patients struggle to convey even the simplest messages. What began as a solution for crisis care soon grew into a powerful, flexible tool for people with communication challenges from all walks of life.

Today, LoriComunica supports over 15 diagnoses, from autism and cerebral palsy to ALS, SMA, and stroke, and adapts to more than five communication methodologies. It is used not only by individuals, but also by families, educators, and healthcare professionals. Behind each interaction is a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves to be heard.

Technology that bridges the connection gap

Through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), LoriComunica supports non-verbal individuals to express themselves with ease, dignity, and autonomy. Users navigate intuitive digital boards composed of symbols, images, and text to vocalise their needs, emotions, and everyday thoughts.

Artificial intelligence adds yet another layer of accessibility, enabling communication through facial movements and removing barriers for those with limited mobility. Users can create cards with images from Google or their own personal libraries, turning the app into a true reflection of their world.

LoriConecta, the company behind LoriComunica, is on a mission to build a more inclusive society. In alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, LoriComunica advances equity in education, healthcare, and communication, transforming how we understand speech. Not merely as something we say, but as something we live with connection and care.

LoriConecta develops assistive technologies to improve the lives of people with conditions like autism, cerebral palsy, and stroke.
