Safi Organics

Making a difference in farm yields and the environment towards a sustainable future
Safi Organics pioneers a revolutionary approach to fertiliser production, leveraging cutting-edge, patented hardware technology and real-time internet systems.
In the current landscape, most fertilisers are manufactured in large-scale, centralised facilities and then distributed to rural areas. This logistical process results in inflated prices for rural farmers in emerging economies like Africa and India, exacerbating the challenges of small-scale food production and perpetuating cycles of poverty.
Safi Organics employs technology to streamline and decentralize fertiliser production, enabling implementation on a village-level scale using locally available resources and labour. This approach significantly reduces logistical costs while delivering a high-quality product that, priced equivalently to conventional fertilisers, can enhance farmers’ yields by up to 30%.
Furthermore, Safi Organics’ carbon-rich fertiliser offers secondary environmental benefits by sequestering carbon into the soil for extended periods. Additionally, the conversion process effectively reduces particulate emissions from traditional open-field crop residue burning by over 95%.
Safi Organic's impact in Kenya
Since 2015, Safi Organics has partnered with over 10,000 farmers, fostering long-term sustainable farming practices through the dissemination of best practices in small-scale agricultural production and manufacturing. By providing organic fertiliser tailored to farmers’ needs, the company prioritises the well-being of the food grown, the resources utilised, the people employed, the communities served, and the planet we collectively inhabit.
The invaluable impact of organic fertiliser remains indispensable, especially amidst recent international supply chain disruptions. These disruptions have led to price spikes of up to 100% and the scarcity of fertilisers in rural communities, exacerbating food security crises in many regions. In contrast, locally produced organic fertiliser has maintained stable availability at a more affordable price, offering a lifeline to communities in need.
